Our Farm
On our 163 acre lakefront estate we have 6 different varietals of wine grapes planted that total 50 vine acres. We focus on Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, with smaller plantings of Syrah, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Of the 6 varietals we have 32 clones planted. We work within the farm to grow the highest quality grapes using California Sustainable Winegrowing (CCSW-Certified) and the best of Organic and Biodynamic practices. Our grapes are grown with the utmost care for ourselves and our winery partners.
Ceago is a very unique growing region within Lake County. The vineyards rise above the 1380 ft. lake level with a southern exposure. The vineyards are planted within 3 different soil types, still gravelly loam, still loam and Cole variant clay loam on the 50 vine acres.
Our vines were planted between 2002 - 2005. Natural cooling breezes from the lake, well drained soils and good cultural practices benefit the grapes, producing fruit with great concentration, soft tannins and a balance of ph and acidity.
